Privacy policy

Our apps are read without an account: we ask for no name, no email address and no phone number in order to use them. The processing described below is what we carry out; depending on the app and on your own choices, some of it may not apply to you.

1. What stays on your device

The text of each work ships inside the app and can be read offline. Your bookmarks, notes, reading position and settings are stored locally. We have no access to them and they are sent to no server. Uninstalling the app erases them.

2. Analytics and diagnostics

We use Google Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics to learn which features are used and to fix faults. What is transmitted is technical and pseudonymous: usage events, device model, system version, language, app version, an installation identifier and — after an unexpected termination — a diagnostic log. None of this identifies you directly.

3. Advertising

Free apps display ads through Google AdMob. On first launch, a consent screen lets you choose. With your agreement, ads may be personalised and rely on an advertising identifier, including the IDFA if you allow it through Apple's tracking prompt. Without your agreement, ads are non-personalised.

You can change this choice at any time from the app's settings, and withdraw tracking permission in the iOS privacy settings. An active subscription removes advertising entirely for as long as it runs.

4. Purchases

Subscriptions and purchases are handled by Apple through the App Store. We see neither your payment method nor your Apple Account: the app receives only the state of your subscription, active or not.

5. Audio playback

Audio recordings are hosted on our servers and downloaded on demand. To keep those files from being retrieved outside the app, each device obtains a temporary authorisation through Apple's App Attest mechanism, which attests that the installation is genuine. This check sends us no personal data and does not allow us to identify you.

6. Processors

The providers named above — Google (Firebase, AdMob), Apple, and our hosting provider — process data on our behalf and may host it outside the European Union. Those transfers rely on the contractual safeguards set out by the European data protection regulation.

7. Retention

Analytics and diagnostic data are retained by our providers according to their own schedules, on the order of a few months. Local data stays on your device until you delete it.

8. Children

Our apps are not directed at children in particular and do not knowingly collect data concerning them.

9. Your rights

You have rights of access, rectification, erasure, objection and restriction over data concerning you. As we keep no user account, most such requests are settled directly on your device: withdrawing advertising consent, turning off tracking, or uninstalling the app.

For anything else, write to contact@myapps4ever.com. You may also lodge a complaint with the CNIL, the French data protection authority, if you believe your rights are not being respected.

This policy may change along with the apps. The date it was last updated appears at the top of the page.
